Aya, a girl in love with music, dance, and drawing pictures, got to live in Ithaca, New York, with her family for a year when she was in high school. It was during that time that she saw Japan from the outside perspective for the first time, which ultimately led her to major in Japanese style painting at University. While she has been pursuing a more dynamic expression of space based on the idea of realism using Japanese traditional drawing materials for more than 45 years since then, it took inconsiderable patience to stay motivated to draw with numerous arrangements to make such as sketching and composing. As she reaches a major milestone in her life, she hopes to realize the expression that dances on the flat surface by revisiting herself in the past when she used to dance freely to the sounds of music, letting go of the painting style she has established over the years. The major exhibitions she participated in include “Floraison et défloraison” Espace Culturel Bertin Poiree (Paris, 2014), artexpo (NewYork, 2015) , and X FLORENCE BIENNALE (Florence, 2015).
