Hanako Fuji is a painter based in the Nagasaki Prefecture. In the past she worked as a designer at a miscellaneous planning company, and today she owns her own cafe and creates and exhibits her artworks.
When creating, she uses the scenes she sees and images in her mind. In order to express the delicacy of the images, the profoundness, and the floating feeling as it is, she uses the benefits of digital and at times uses and combines analog, pastel, and pencil to create different artworks to create a touch of pop or an emotional style. Hanako Fuji incorporates imaginations and traditions only known to Japanese people, and gives a breath of life with vivid colors to express nostalgia through colors that resonate twilight. She named this theme, “Neo Nostalgia.”
Through my artworks, she hopes to express the “free mind” and exciting “energy” she felt as a child, and hopes that it will leave a slight feeling of “sadness” to live for tomorrow’s life.
