Wings of Silence 静寂の翼
Unforgettable words, dreams, and lingering tones. All are invisible, but hold silent powers.
At times, they become the hope that people need.
In my watercolor paintings, I express the flower’s shadow created by
the moonlight in the silence and the emotions that resonate gently.
Creating art is like a lifelong learning process.
I am thankful for all the people I meet on this journey.

Harumi Yukawa
Harumi Yukawa started her art career as a professional calligrapher in Kanagawa. She embarked on the journey to broaden her art experience in the United States and received an associate degree at CCSF. She then transferred to UC Berkeley to acquire further education.
Taking charcoal drawing classes in her early years, Yukawa was able to gain a deeper understanding of the empty space created by the black and white compositions of calligraphy.
Her years in a color dynamics class eventually led her to become interested in watercolor paintings.
Even amongst her experienced mentors, she thrived and showed her spirit to grow as an artist and as a human being.
Seeing the beautiful flowers gleaming under the early morning sunshine on her campus, Yukawa saw an unforgettable gift and a moment of hope that guided her to create the fine arts that she expresses through her watercolors.
She graduated from UC Berkeley, Department of Art Practice with honors and was selected as a notable new artist by The Window of Arts 2016 in Japan. She believes the beauty of transience in kind words, prayers and gentle sounds as seen in the natural blue shades of light.
