Ke-ko’s artworks invite the viewer to imaginary worlds, with colorful outlines and pale colors for a change of pace. She has been creative since her childhood, but was more interested in writing stories than paintings. Having worked in a library and in charge of children’s books, she was impressed with the philosophy of excellent children’s books and picture books, which not only children, but also adults can learn a lot from. She wanted to create the world herself, and began to study painting on her own. Therefore, many of ke-ko’s works are related to motifs and themes inspired by books. At the root of the world she expresses are the books she remembers reading before going to sleep when she was a child, which is also the sense of security and healing that she felt at the time. Her artist activities began in 2018, and mainly in Tokyo. The story of her inner self is just the beginning, and she does not know how it will end or change.
