MIYUKI UMEZAWA
MIYUKI dreamed of being a fashion designer. Everyday after school, she would do a fashion show by herself and made doll clothes with cloth and tissues.
She was also interested in natural disasters because she grew up in an area known to expect a big earthquake. She learned about the environment and disaster prevention.
Knowledge in this area and understanding the necessity of connections within the community to ensure safety and security, influenced her artworks.
About 6 years ago, when she was looking for a unique gift for her friend, she came across a preserved flower arrangement and learned about flower design. She now depicts “Serendipity” that can only be expressed by flowers. She paints everyday sceneries, such as nature and people, with acrylics and watercolors, and delicately draws the emotions. She sometimes uses preserved flowers, artificial flowers and artistic wires. Her artworks are created with various flowers.
