NARUTO NARUMIYA
Ambidextrous painter, Naruto Narumiya started his painting career when he saw a dream. It was a dream where his grandfather appeared next to a sunflower painting and told him, “you must do what you first thought was the most enjoyable thing in your life.”
At his grandfather’s place is the actual painting of the sunflower, and with it are the painting tools that he first used when he started painting as a way to express himself.
The subjects of his painting are mainly caricatures of people and current topics.
The main material he uses are pen, acrylic and pigments extracted from nature, such as flowers and grass.
When he creates a work, he does research on different animals and plants and chooses those which resonate with the subject of the picture. He then combines them to construct a different image.
Under the theme, “THIS IS JAPAN”, he adds images of Mt. Fuji in Tokyo and various temples to his works.
Through his works, he would like to spread Japanese culture to a wider range of people from overseas.
