Sayuri Nagakura was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. She moved around to different places due to her parent’s business. She spent four years of her childhood in Mexico. After moving back to Japan, she went to an international school for 5 years. Currently she lives in Mexico and has been painting professionally since 2019.
Her art reflects her personal experiences from living in Mexico, which is a colorful and energetic country, and the interactions with classmates from all over the world.
Her paintings consist of thin lines using ballpoint pens to create congested motifs and the unique coloring technique acquired by her personal experience. This combination will take you through an exotic journey within her art.
She is exploring how to express the beauty, strength, toughness, gentleness, and sensitivity of the animals and nature in every inspired piece of art.
