SHINICHI UEMURA - Dragon calligraphy - JCAT artist

SHINICHI UEMURA was born in 1978 in Tokyo.
When he was little, he experienced many out-of-body experiences. From this, he began believing in the existence of the soul and started questioning what people are born for. The answer he came to was this: “The soul” or in other words, “the essence of people” is harmony, and people are born in order to play a part in this harmony.
However, many people do not realize people’s roles. This is because in this 3D world constructed with limited materials and time, the essence is covered by multiple layers of memories and emotions.
He creates under the theme of 龍 (Ryū, Dragon).
He expresses dynamic movement with a calligraphy technique using sumi ink, and expresses overflowing vitality with acrylic ink.
With the love for peace and harmony that sleeps within your heart, the dragon asks you,
“What do you truly want to do?”
2019: Selected for the EWAL Premier Art Award (England)
2020: Selected for the Second Japan Bungei Art Competition (Japan)
