Keizan was born and raised in a region rich in nature in Japan. He learned calligraphy from an early age, and after acquiring the title of Shihan (Master Calligrapher), he learned about sumi-ink painting and tenkoku (seal-engraving) and became familiar with the world of Japanese washi paper and sumi-ink. Since he was born and raised in a region rich in nature, and lived close to Kyoto, which is full of history and culture, he was blessed with the beautiful sceneries of temple gardens, shrines, and fusuma (Japanese door) paintings.
However, he felt the limits of the closed traditional art of Japan and began his attempts to introduce the Japanese culture to the world. One is currently being exhibited in a separate exhibition. It is the world of calligraphy that fuses calligraphy and sumi-ink painting and expressed with a brush and ink, in order to return to its original oriental art form. His motifs are also more modern and are tested to be of interest to the younger generation. Second is to express popular modern art through calligraphy.
By believing that tradition can be developed rather than adhered, he aims to revitalize Japan with the soft power that moves the current century of the world.
