Pleo has been stuttering since he was a child. He also suffered from depression seven years ago, and began painting to heal his mind. The theme of his works is “regeneration of the mind”. Right now, he is aiming to create a work that can heal someone’s heart, and give hope to people who have the same problems as him. He mainly uses watercolors, ballpoint pens, and watercolor pencils. He’s applying the technique of adding colors to a line drawing. Recently, he is also trying to draw works with acrylic paints. As for the activity history, in May 2017, he participated in “DISCOVER THE ONE JAPANESE ART” sponsored by Qualiart Co., Ltd. at Menier Gallery (London). In May 2019, he held a solo exhibition “Pleo-KOTEN” at Design Festa Gallery (Harajuku), and in July of the same year, published a picture book “Kirin no Yume (Giraffe’s dream)” from Ishida Ehon. In September of the same year, he exhibited at the “Jun Exhibition” sponsored by the Art Association and two works won awards. In February 2020, his second picture book, “Yoru no Shippo (The tail of the night)” was published.
