Growing up in Kanagawa, Japan, loving drawing and book illustrations, YOU. was fascinated by the warmth of pastels. She earned the pastel art instructor’s certificate in 2013 and began creating pastel artworks.
Using eyebrow pencils and burnt brown watercolor pencils for outlines enabled her to paint freely. She skillfully uses a kneaded eraser to remove colors from the image she paints using her finger, cotton, and cotton swabs.
The subject matters of her paintings primarily were little angels, which she made into a series and adorable images of creatures. Having grieved over the animals left behind during the nuclear power plant accident in the Great East Japan Earthquake, she began to depict the precious lives on the colorful planet earth.
Believing that art has the power to transcend language and invite people to a world of freedom and peace, she wishes to bring peace of mind to someone’s heart by painting the world full of kindness that she idealizes.
Her major exhibits include “Art Market in Odaiba” at Gallery 21 (Jun 2021), “Winter Exhibition 2021” at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Gallery (Dec 2021), and “The 11th New Year’s Exhibition” (Jan 2022). She has been participating in several group exhibitions since 2014, and since 2019, her works have been exhibited several times a year at the galleries in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
