“Early spring” is what I chose as a theme for my work.
March in Japan is the season of stepping out for the new life, departing from our loved ones.
Loneliness and anxiety for the future come along within.
We pause as the season turns from winter to spring.
Let us give the spring storm some time to wash the earth clean and melt the cold snow.
Isn’t it lovely how seasons blend beautifully in early spring?
Yoko Kitazaki was born in Kyoto and learned oil painting from an early age. She loved the layered colors of “Water Lilies” by Monet and wanted to express the changing light. Having majored in dyeing at Kyoto City University of Arts, she still takes inspirations for her expression from Monet’s colors and the dyeing design.
Currently, she is working on acrylic abstract paintings. Exhibiting her works mainly at the international exhibitions by Italian artists’ groups, she also takes part in exhibitions in New York and Paris.
Duality is always rooted in the themes of her production which contains the message of “Seeing the whole phenomenon from the viewpoint of the mind.” As a feature of her work, she adds transitions such as “movement, flow, luster, lumps, and cracks” to the smooth paints. This can be viewed as magic the artist makes.
Beautiful!!
